Headcanons/speculation about how the preps acquired their wealth and current source if income:
The Harringtons: "Harrington Oil" can be seen advertized on the go-cart racetrack so we can assume they are oil tycoons. Derby is featured in Aquaberry advertisements so perhaps his family are shareholders and invest in other luxury clothing brands as well.
The Gauthiers: It's hard to say. Chad mentions Pinky's father bought her an entire ice cream factory so maybe he owns a major food manufacturing company a la Nestle. I also guess her parents are philanthropists considering that she has no qualms about donating to charity
The Taylors: Bif mentions his dad possibly bulldozing some low-income housing so I'm going to say land development and real estate. If he gets hit by a car Bif will mention his father being an attorney. I'm also going to consider Derby's little jab about him being a Democrat and say his dad is a political attorney.
The Spencers: "Spencer Shipping", a shipping manufacturing company; Tad says his father is a self-made man but perhaps his mother is old-money, hence the inbreeding. She may have came from an old British aristocrat family, and Tad does his best to replicate her accent.
The Vanderveldes: Sounds like "Vanderbilt" so imma say railroads
The Vendomes: Gord's dad is an attorney and owns a law firm that specializes in criminal cases. He also owns several hotels so he's in the hospitality business
The Montroses: Bryce's dad has gambled away most of their money and whatever source of wealth they have isn't enough to get their family out of debt. The best guess I can give is that his father is an investor and is currently seeing little to no returns on his investments (after more digging I found a quote were Bryce states his father told him he "lost a bundle in the stock market").
The Ogilvies: Literally no dialogue hints at his family's business so let's say his father owns a large vehicle manufacturing company and his mother is a professional conductor.
The Morrises: Chad mentions his father a lot like he's a really important person so perhaps he's in politics or works on the board of education. He mentions not receiving his usual care package from his mother, meaning that she may not live nearby in the Vale. She may have a profession that requires her to travel a lot. Judging by Chad's quotes about the environment I'd say she's an environmentalist.

Announcement/Update Cat parents of MALE CATS SPECIFICALLY! If their under 8 &/or u’ve yet to learn about ‘the possibility of obstruction (something that CAN & WILL happen to certain genetically predisposed cats; swap them to wet food for their safety & PLEASE READ)
Hey guys💔 Todays rope had to be canceled. I had to rush one of my boys to ER. It was pretty serious, pretty scary & after 2 days I was finally able to bring him home but, I’m gonna have to keep an eye on him.Because of his size & the meds he needed; they hit him heavy so, he needs help going to the bathroom & using the water bowl.
Thank you to everyone whose reached out via IG as this was going down; if I didn’t get back to you, my apologies; it’s been a bit hectic but Im sincerely grateful for everyone’s concern.
IF U HAVE MALE CATS; SWAP THEM TO WET FOOD FOR THEIR SAFETY if u wanna spare a 1k vet bill,
(I was so shocked to hear both the vet & a lot of my fellow cat owners say “yeah it’s common, most ppl just don’t find out their cats intolerant till the worst happens; & because cats mask so well; at that point, it can truly be serious…)
I know Miami is densely populated but not everyone is 10 mins away from a vet. Also times are tough; I cannot stomach the idea of someone losing their cat cause they didn’t have 1000$ on standby (which who the fk has that these days)
I want to make this last part exceptionally clear..,
I am someone who has had a job since before I was legally allowed to obtain one… I’m one of millions of Americans who couldn’t afford college nor qualify for financial aid… I have worked to the BONE In everything from service industry, to blue collar, to maintenance(both in terms of house keeping & even assembling & maintenance of salt water aquariums..was even a groutsmith) like most Americans, I’ve never had insurance & lived paycheck to paycheck + have made just enough to get by since I was 15.
I didn’t have ‘luxurious purchases’ I had medical bills I couldn’t even afford a regular minimum payment on… I didn’t save for ‘exuberant trips’ … I saved to get a weeks worth of groceries…
I never bought a car..: but some days I spent just as much as I made just to get to work ..(& while the men were praised for riding their bikes & showing “that type of initiative…” I was berated for showing up to work “in such a condition” “It doesn’t matter u come in early /before we open to “fix urself up”
When YOU WALK IN THRU THAT DOOR, U WALK/TALK/COME IN LIKE UR ALREADY ON THE CLOCK… U SHOULD BE COMING IN EARLY ANYWAY (just for them to yell at u for actually coming in early)
The ONLY REASON, I (someone who would literally run into a burning building & d*e for their animals; for animals who weren’t even mine) someone who would miss meals so they could eat THE best food…someone who LOVES & is DEDICATED to their creatures, who would do ANYTHING for them, & MOST importantly..
Someone who was DUMB/NAIVE ENOUGH to be ‘the hardest worker in the room for souless companies/selfish ppl for 30+ yrs was ONLY CAPABLE of getting my baby THAT care NOT because of a “traditional (what yall call ‘honest days work’) IT WAS BECAUSE OF WHAT IS CONSIDERED SW. full fucking stop.
& because I had a women who had both a virtually non interest credit card AND my back♥️ (I’ve told u once, I’ll say it again; Grandmas a gangster)
I know SM likes to frame SW as an option for women who “don’t feel like working/ want expensive luxuries things & are looking for a free ride..”
What we’re lookin for is a career that allows us to still man the ship the way we need to, we’ve been expected to..
It allows us not just means for survival, but the capacity to do so WHILE we continue to be the caretakers of our family & (for some particularly exceptional women) the caretakers of our community…
I wanna make it SO clear this is NOT A DIG to ANYONE, ESPECIALLY the vet& staff that helped us & are appreciated SOOO DEEPLY. These are ppl who are overwhelmed, burnt out like the rest of us, expect unlike nurses, they usually aren’t given a 1/4 of the respect other medical professionals are. PLEASE be kind to them. (I know it’s difficult when emotions are high)
But while this was not my regular content, I know ALOT animal lovers on here… times are tough, there only gonnna get tougher… information is invaluable..
1 week before this happened; 1 woman made a video sharing how she JUST lost her MALE CAT (due to this)
Because of THAT video, I was aware this could even happen…
Because of a incredible vet & her team who TRUSTED me when I said “I will figure out the money, u have my WORD” my boy is safe & while expensive; they made it as affordable as possible…
And because of another woman who had my back w/a piece of plastic at the drop of a hat, I was able to bring him home.
And because of some incredible supporters & community like yall who like my content & share it, push it into the algo, find me on other platforms s & interact, even if they can’t financially contribute.. because of being lucky enough to be supported; I was able to make that happen for my boy. Every single variable is what came together to keep him here today & my heart… can’t even think of how to properly thank you all.
The community looked out for me.. & while this post may be all I have to give back ATM.. it’s what I got..
MALE CATS=WET FOOD TO BE SAFE!!!
(Also, CONSTANT FRESH WATER SOURCE BOTH BY & away from their food ; by their food so they have some to access while eating & some away so it stays fresh & can help them pass more easily.)
Love u guys xoxoxo.
We’ll be resuming to our regular scheduled content next week lol
Till then, xoxoox - hummingbird + ‘Fil’ @ooooshetriesss

saint sainz presente:
CHICO ROSADO
16 september 2017 radio interview recording room
carlos sweeps a few fingers through the thick of his dark hair, sitting pliantly in a cushy chair with little attention to the commotion of a tech crew around him. he settles his cap back atop his head and finally puts on a pair of large black headphones.
across the table sits an interviewer and a co-host. the three are cozied up in a rather soundproof room. this is carlos’ first radio interview, but it all still feels familiar— in a good way, carlos decides.
he remains demure even though there are no cameras watching him. he fiddles with his hands in his lap, twists the headphone wire, and sinks into his chair as he and the interviewers have a surprisingly unfiltered conversation.
interviewer 1: so, the car you drive off the track is… what did you say it was?
carlos: a golf gti, one my parents bought for me.
ah, i see. so not too much luxury outside of racing?
i wouldn’t say that [laughs]. i’m still interested in cars, i love them.
interviewer 2: and he still wants to impress people when he’s not racing [laughs]
does your volkswagen get you any attention from the ladies?
[laughs] i mean…
well, are you in a relationship?
i was, but recently no. i’ve become single in the past few years.
ah, shame to hear it.
was it good while it lasted?
yes, it was good.
was it good in the volkswagen?
[laughs]
[laughs] can you even lay someone in there? is it even big enough? [laughs]
no, no, you can! i mean, it’s possible—
oh, the confidence!
he’s done it.
he has definitely done it. carlos, have you done it in your modest volkswagen gti?
no, you can’t ask that!
[laughs]
i won’t say.
that’s basically a yes!
now i think i know why you’re recently single [laughs]
oh god— were you only treating her to car sex?
[laughs] [pauses] you can’t be asking this live on air, no?
of course we can, it’s our show!
no, no i still won’t answer [laughs]
no answer is an answer, carlos.
19 september 2017 red bull lounge
“carlos, there’s press going around about you having car sex.”
“what?”
max poorly stifles a laugh, his grin radiating even from behind his hand. he passes his phone to carlos; it’s open to an article with his name written in bold.
‘carlos sainz: busy in cars on and off the track!
it was in a recent radio show interview where the formula 1 driver for toro rosso teased his promiscuity around his car— a volkswagen golf gti.
the interviewers egged sainz on with alluding questions, such as “can you even lay someone in there?”, and while sainz portrayed hesitance to confirm anything otherwise, he did confidently press the fact that yes, you can lay a body down in a golf gti.
“you can— i mean, it’s possible,” sainz had told his interviewers. he denied answering explicitly wether or not he has done “it” in his car with his now ex-girlfriend, but listeners are sure that the race-car driver would have been seen blushing had there also been cameras to record the interview.’
carlos tosses max’s phone back to him. there’s a carefree quirk in his eyebrow, and his laugh is smooth and unconcerned.
28 september 2017 carlos’ hotel room
another article.
‘formula 1 driver carlos sainz car sex scandal’
really, it’s a scandal now?
‘…so we all can’t help but wonder— can you have sex in a formula 1 race-car?’
no, not unless you tried hard enough. and even then…
it’s better to start somewhere easier, to try something a bit more spacious. something like: a volkswagen golf gti.
29 september 2017 red bull lounge
“who is the lucky lady laying down in carlos sainz’s VW golf gti?”
“mate,” carlos sighs. “they cannot be serious, these news articles.”
“eh, this one only has a couple hundred reads,” max says.
“so what, you’re just looking for these articles for fun now?”
“yes,” max laughs. “i am. but you know it’s funny, too.”
carlos raises an eyebrow.
“who’s the lucky lady?”
there’s a suspicious pause from max, then, the two boys are snickering and nodding amongst themselves.
7 october 2017 formula 1 & 2 press meet and greet
there’s a reserved look on carlos’ face as he idles next to his fellow competitors. stuffed into a small room, they all waddle a bit like penguins to shake the hands of their younger counterparts— the talented formula 2 drivers.
with greetings to be shared and questions to be both asked and answered, carlos meanders quietly in the background. not avoiding, and not exactly aloof, but perhaps a sweet mixture of both. he has no intent to come across as better-than, and he has enough pride to not wither away in the background.
that must be why he is able to easily linger towards an open seat on a small leather couch, and go comfortably unnoticed by the masses.
but, he is still recognized by one.
“leclerc,” a boy sat next to carlos says, and reaches for carlos’s hand. “charles leclerc. i’m for prema racing.”
carlos shakes his hand. it feels delicate, soft. he knows this boy.
“right, f2’s golden boy, chico de oro.”
“is that what they’re calling me?”
carlos finds it cute, the way charles expresses so confidently but still has the shy dimples of a young boy. he’s an interesting mix, and has been to carlos for some time now.
“it is in the articles, yes. i’ve seen you race. you do good.”
“thank you. i’m a fan of yours as well, it’s nice to meet you.”
carlos didn’t say he was a fan. he contemplates teasing the younger boy with that, hanging it over his head that he admitted to being a fan of carlos first, so easily.
but he’s so earnest, carlos thinks. those dimples and that blush can’t be faked.
“you look a bit red, mate.”
“oh,” charles goes quiet.
“did i do that?” carlos asks, so bluntly and so quietly. (he had leaned in to mutter it softly to charles.)
“it’s warm in here,” charles wipes his palms on his thighs. he’s dressed in his racing suit, his helmet and gloves on the floor between his feet.
carlos has his team jersey on, the material tight but breathable. and of course, his red bull cap sits backwards on his head. he adjusts it and reclines on the couch, pleased with charles’ blush and the quiet hum of voices all around him.
“okay, chico rosado.”
10 october 2017 red bull lounge, post japanese grand prix
a wave of people crowds around max, and carlos is pushed to the edge of the shore. he sits with his trainer, and a few other red bull crew members, at a table near the edge of the lounge. he’s glad for max, but jealous for himself.
last place would have been better than a dnf.
“be grateful that you get to race at all,” his father would say.
daniel comes to sit with him, but doesn’t say much. carlos contemplates his congratulations for max, discusses what went wrong and what went right, and wonders how charles is doing in the lower ranks.
hours later, that same night:
los toros groupchat 10:33 pm
carlos sainz > i think we should party
max v 33 > say more?
dr3 > say less > i’m in
max v 33 > where are we partying?
carlos sainz > we’re in japan. anywhere.
dr3 > i actually know a place, i think
max v 33 > of course you do
dr3 > i think you mean ‘thank you’ babe
carlos sainz > okay 333, i’ll see you guys in 30. > send the location daniel?
dr3 [dr3 shared a location with you.]
carlos sainz > gracias
10:57 pm
carlos sainz > by the way, i’m inviting charles
max v 33 > who?
carlos sainz > el chico de oro de f2. > golden boy leclerc.
one hour later, that same night
daniel has, in daniel fashion, walked his friends into a car meet and promptly abandoned them for drinks and a good time with max. they wander under twinkling stars and flashing neon lights, all mostly out-shined by the iridescent mix of headlights by their feet.
“bit romantic isn’t it? all the headlights acting as stars that we can touch.”
“you know you can’t touch the cars dan,” max says, as if he has said this sentence one hundred times before.
“alright fine. but i do know a star i can touch,” daniel winks at his boyfriend.
they stroll hand in hand down the blocked off road, past rows of sports cars, convertibles, race-cars.
max asks daniel about carlos’ friend. “he’s in formula 2, no?”
“yeah, some ankle biter.”
“he looks my age, dan.”
“what, and you’re not an ankle biter?”
max shoves daniel in the side, chasing his attack with a kiss on the cheek.
“yeah,” daniel continues. “looks like they’re friends now. i dunno, i think the little one might have a bit of a crush on our carlos.”
max silently ponders the possibilities.
laughter erupts all around them, the soundscape joyous but still somewhat promiscuous. a scandalous beat slips out of speakers in the back of some silver mercedes, and max and daniel surely aren’t the only couple to find their kissing to match the rhythm.
charles wonders if carlos will kiss him.
he won’t.
it would be too soon, for no reason other than carlos likes to tease. and, some self restraint is always good to practice.
carlos doesn’t even touch charles this night. they walk side by side, carlos ogling the cars, charles ogling carlos. this type of flashiness has never been introduced to charles. he is used to a more refined, look-but-don’t-touch type of extravagance.
that’s why charles enjoys himself so much. what a new and wonderful experience it is, to go out with a cute boy and have him explain to you the odds and ends of every decked out car you walk by. like a breath of fresh air in a familiar field. charles smells the friendly breeze of gasoline and asphalt, but the flowers carry a different fragrance.
“do you do street racing ever, charles?”
“ah, no. i’ve never found the time to.”
“oh, but you want to?”
charles quirks an eyebrow.
“to find the time?” carlos clarifies.
charles ponders for a moment. “i’m not so sure,” he begins. “i only just recently got my first car, i don’t want to ruin it or anything by racing with it.”
“only now you got your own car?” carlos asks, suddenly working out some math in his head. “and how old are you?”
“well, i am only nineteen, but i have a birthday in a week.”
“really, in a week?”
it’s hard to explain why for charles, but he feels so exposed in front of carlos, now that he knows his birthday. is that such an intimate thing, to know the date that someone came into this world? or perhaps, is charles shying away from carlos’ glance simply because he seems interested in knowing anything about him at all?
“you’ll have to do something then. maybe you can celebrate with a little racing.”
charles glances over to carlos. he’s got such a relaxed face on, and that nonchalant smile… charles can’t help but wonder if it means anything. or maybe the younger is just reading into it... but oh, that look; like carlos has a secret and he doesn’t care if you know it or not.
“when is your birthday?” charles asks, an awkward break of the silence. carlos does laugh at this, but kindly, quietly.
“it was in september.”
“oh! so you just turned…”
“twenty-two. the first of the month.”
“well, happy late birthday, carlos.” charles let’s out a thoughtful hum as he glances at the street food vendors around them. “shall i buy you a present?”
charles’ laugh is light and airy, but the glance carlos passes to him is the opposite.
“i think i already have all that i want.”
13 october 2017 the streets of madrid, spain
the days feel different when carlos is back home in madrid. maybe the air has changed, perhaps the sun shines brighter, the water glistens a little shinier. there is an aura in his home that he quickly finds comfort and strength in.
it’s something like being reawakened. especially now, as he sits with an attentive foot on the pedal of his car.
he’s racing an old friend in front of a shaggy crowd, just a few kids his age eagerly waiting to see the cars peel out. some time has passed since he has done this, and it almost feels even better because of that.
the road is just under 1 kilometer long. carlos wins the race by a second.
15 october 2017 carlos’ bedroom
text message 3:45 pm
unknown > hello carlos :) > i am vacationing in madrid before the race in portugal. no pressure to reply, but i was wondering if you have any places you recommend i visit :)
4:06 pm
unknown > this is charles, by the way > leclerc > :)
4:13 pm
carlos sainz > hola charles. don’t you have a birthday tomorrow?
chico rosado > yes, it is tomorrow
carlos sainz > you won’t be spending it with family then, if you’re here in madrid?
chico rosado > my younger brother is here on vacation with me :)
carlos sainz > i see
4:25 pm
carlos sainz > if you find yourself alone, here’s a good place to hangout. > especially after 9, when la poli are sleepy. [carlos sainz shared a location.]
16 october 2017 the streets of madrid, spain
it’s half past ten, and charles squints through the darkness to find himself amongst a crowd of rowdy people. heavy bass music bumps from behind him, and he weaves through all these unfamiliar bodies, trying to find the one he came here for.
no face in the crowd looks familiar. no words shouted out are really understandable to charles.
he catches a few familiar ones, though, and importantly, he understands when one woman calls out, “el final! están aquí!”
charles steadies his wandering and turns to face the same direction as everyone else. six glowing dots appear on the horizon line, fuzzy and rapidly approaching the crowd of people charles is crammed into.
it becomes clear quickly what they’re all sticking their necks out to see, and charles feels that familiar tug in his stomach the moment he hears the incoming hum and rev of the engines.
it’s unfair to compare them to that of his own race-car, but charles still gets goosebumps at the sight of the three cars barreling down the street as fast as they can. one red, one gray, one black.
they torpedo down the road. he can feel the kiss of a breeze across his face. the finish line is marked in bright orange spray paint. the gray car’s tires roll over it first. then red, then black.
charles cheers, despite being clueless as to who just won. all that he knows is someone won, and that in itself is exciting enough for the young boy. he wishes he had someone to shout with. to shout to, maybe.
he should find carlos.
charles makes his way towards the three cars. the competition seems friendly enough, hugs and high-fives and handshakes are passed around the people closest to the vehicles.
there’s even someone with a beat up megaphone announcing with vigor the results of the race.
in spanish, he calls out, “third place, román gil! in second, emilio maradiaga! and the winner of first place… our chili!”
applause and cheers fill the night air, as do flashing lights and bouncy music. the fanfare dies down rather quickly, but only as it is replaced with groups of people crowding around the cars to see the hype up-close.
charles weaves through the tightening web of people, to where he can stand with some breathing room off to the side. even with all the commotion, a space soon clears up, and grants him a beautiful view.
carlos leans against the hood of the gray car. his gray car. the volkswagen golf gti.
his arms are crossed as he laughs with some friends. he’s in some old gray jeans and a black t-shirt, but charles’ heart still stutters when he sees that nonchalant smile carlos does so well.
charles shoves his hands into the pocket of his hoodie, concealing the nervous fiddling of his fingers. he makes his way towards carlos, his eyes locked on the familiar handsome face.
he hoped it wouldn’t be, but it is awkward at first. the crowd has dwindled down to just four or five people, but charles struggles to find a space to slot himself into nicely. he taps a man on the back, tries to introduce himself, but the language barrier creates friction between them.
“uh, carlos… es mi amigo…” charles tries.
the man shrugs, but let’s him squeeze in any way. carlos notices him instantly.
“you came,” he says.
“i did,” is all charles can seem to say. his eyes linger on carlos’ face; his lips, his nose, his sparkling brown eyes. he’s sure an eternity passes before carlos speaks again.
“did you manage to see the race?”
“just the end of it. but i saw you cross the finish line first, yes.” charles smiles. carlos is rather fond of his sweet dimples. he’d like to see them more often.
it’s not hard to have the crowd of friends around him disperse, so carlos waves them away and makes some excuse that he has to show his friend around. on cue the cars next to his light up, and the commotion is drawn away from carlos and his car.
soon enough, it’s just him and charles.
“come on,” carlos nods his head towards his car, and says nothing further. he makes his way to the passenger side, and waits with his hand on the door handle, as if he and charles do this frequently.
charles rushes to his side, and blushes when carlos opens the door for him, his eyes following charles’ every move into the vehicle.
he wonders where carlos will take him (if anywhere), but mostly he wonders if carlos is happy that he came. he must be, if he invited charles, no? that text message, it was an invitation, right? carlos does want him here? he’s in carlos’ car now, and that can’t be for no reason.
charles twirls his hoodie strings around his finger. carlos starts the car and puts his hand on the back of charles’ seat.
“i’m going to take you somewhere i think you’ll like, charles.”
later, that same night
carlos’ car— his volkswagen golf gti — sits parked on a half sandy, half rocky shore of a secluded swimming pond. the two boys remain seated in the car, the moonlight bouncing off the water giving them enough light to feel safe, and enough darkness to be comfortable.
“seems like this is a good car for street racing,” charles offers, desperate to hear carlos’ voice again. the silence is comfortable, but not what he wants.
“mhm. it’s a good car all around,” carlos says. his fingers trace the steering wheel, the dashboard, the center console. charles has to catch his breath when carlos lands his hand on the gear shift, squeezing it. “it’s versatile.”
a silent moment passes. charles watches as carlos rubs his thumb back and forth on the nob. his blush is coming back.
“i saw that article, by the way,” charles starts, but he’s too shy to say more.
carlos looks at him blankly at first, then with the hint of a smile.
“the one claiming i had a lot of car sex in here?”
charles’ eyes widen. “yes, um… that one.”
“so?” carlos asks.
charles fails to understand. carlos’ smile grows a bit when he sees the way the younger boy’s eyebrows curve into two confused squiggles.
“what do you think?” carlos asks.
“oh… it’s a nice car. i like it.” charles takes his turn to run his fingers along the interior.
“that’s not what i meant, but thank you.”
“what did you mean, then?” charles stares at the gear shift, at carlos’ hand.
“what do you think about me having lots of sex in here, chico rosado?”
charles freezes, the pit of his stomach clenching and sending heat throughout him. god, is he that easy? he has to play it cool.
“you keep calling me that name, but i’m not sure what it means.”
“chico rosado?” carlos repeats. charles nods his head, shyly looking up at the older boy.
carlos smiles. he lifts his hand from the gear shift, and boldly rests it on charle’s face. his thumb strokes over his cheek. “it means… pink boy. i call you that, instead of golden boy, because of this color right here.”
the spot carlos refers to is charles’ soft cheek, but with his forwardness and big hand touching charles’ skin, the blush rapidly spreads to his neck and ears.
“and,” carlos begins. and although it’s small, perhaps only a fraction of a second long, carlos shows his first sign of hesitance. he pauses, then swipes his thumb over charles’ glossy lower lip. “you’re pink right here, too.”
while charles’ heart rate may spike, the way time moves around him suddenly feels as if it has slowed. the night sky is pitch black and still. carlos’ fingers move a millimeter a second across his lip. so slow it nearly tickles.
chico rosado. pink boy, not golden.
charles turns away from carlos.
“so you’re teasing me, then?” he asks.
“i never said it was a bad thing, charles.”
“it’s not something i can help,” charles’ voice is nearing the volume of a whisper. his attempt to remove carlos’ hand from him has failed, rendering him staring sadly at his feet while carlos keeps his hand on charle’s shoulder.
some crickets sing outside of the car. the moonlight dances over the water, over both of their faces. charles sighs. was he too naive? was he foolish, to think all of this might have been something else?
“growing up, i’ve always been teased for it,”
“charles—“
“i was called girly for it. and that’s not even a bad thing, but they all meant it bad.”
carlos doesn’t remove his hand from charles’ shoulder. in fact, the younger boy feels it gently creep up to his neck.
“i know it was all meaningless teasing, but it still stuck with me.”
“i’m sorry they bullied you like that.”
“it’s fine. i just thought… i’m just sad it’s happening again. i thought—“
“charles, i’m not teasing you. i’m flirting with you.”
carlos would like to keep the look on charles’ face framed and on his wall. his mouth so pink and pouty, eyes glossy from his emotions but widened from carlos’ clearly stunning words.
“could you really not tell?” carlos asks.
“i thought so, at some moments, but… i second guessed myself.”
“were you not, too? when we met at that press meet and greet?”
“only a little.”
“i thought you were sweet. i liked how you introduced yourself to me, and called yourself a fan of mine.”
carlos manages to replace his hand on charles’ cheek. soft and gentle, just how charles needs to be handled.
“and i liked how you blushed. you’re quite pretty, charles.”
the still air around them slowly swells into a breeze. a fragrance of autumn blows by their faces, through the partly open windows of carlos’ car. it’s quiet, and it’s comforting— it’s them.
“can i kiss you?” carlos whispers.
“please.”
for continuity’s sake, and for his own pleasure, carlos leans in slower than charles thinks he can bear. it’s the same craving he has had for weeks now, and charles is nearly salivating now that he’s about to have a taste.
for a moment, he thinks it might be too much— too sweet, too delicious, too good to handle. for a moment his heart jumps into his throat, and if it weren’t stuck right in his adam’s apple, charles might shout out a weak, half-hearted wait!
instead, carlos catches the tail end of a gasp from charles in his own mouth.
he kisses him, gentle and slow and steady, right on his pink lips. his hand still cupping charles’ face, his fingers teasing his blush up to the surface. carlos kisses charles, once and then twice, the second longer than the first.
and when he pulls away, he sees exactly what he wants to see; his chico rosado, blushing for him, smiling.
“joyeux anniversaire, charles.”
“gracias, carlos.”
“i’ll have more gifts for you later, when the time is right.”
carlos caresses charles’ face, hooking his fingers beneath the younger boy’s chin. he uses the leverage to pull him in closer, and with a teasing haste, carlos kisses charles for the last time that night.
thank you so much for reading my story! i hope you enjoyed it <3 keep an eye out for part 2!

Maximizing Car Value in the Automotive Transportation Industry
While car carrier companies may not have the same level of expertise and equipment as luxury vehicle transporters, they still follow strict safety protocols to ensure your vehicle arrives safely.
They also offer fully insured car carrier service for your auto during transport, providing peace of mind in case of any unforeseen incidents.
Reliable Auto Transport
The best car transport services may have more flexible scheduling options due to the higher volume of shipments they handle. This can be advantageous for customers who have fewer rigid timelines and are looking for the most cost-effective shipping solution.
Additionally, some auto transporters offer discounts for return customers or for shipping multiple vehicles, which can further reduce costs.
Despite being more cost-effective, many reliable car shipping companies still provide customer support throughout the transport process. They understand the importance of communication and aim to keep you informed about your vehicle's status from pickup to delivery.
Factors to Consider
When deciding between luxury and auto transport, there are a few factors to consider. The main one is the value of your vehicle. If you have a luxury vehicle that holds a high monetary or sentimental value, it's worth investing in a luxury vehicle transport service to ensure its safety and protection.
On the other hand, if you have a more affordable vehicle, you may feel comfortable with a more affordable option.
Car Value and Protection Needs
The intrinsic value of your vehicle is not solely about its monetary worth but also its emotional significance to you. For vehicles that are rare, have custom modifications, or are of exceptional sentimental value, choosing a reliable car transport guide that specializes in providing helpful information with cars carrying is advisable.
These services prioritize the safety and security of your vehicle, giving you the assurance that it is treated with the care it deserves.
Additionally, consider the level of protection your vehicle needs during transport.
For instance, luxury cars with custom paint jobs or delicate bodywork may require an enclosed carrier to shield them from road debris and weather conditions.
On the other hand, a standard vehicle with a sturdy build may not need the same level of protection, making an open car carrier a viable and more affordable option.
Distance and Location
Another factor to consider is the distance and location of your transport. If you're transporting your vehicle within the same city or a short distance, the car transporters may be a suitable option. However, if you're moving your vehicle long-distance or across state lines, it's worth considering a nationwide auto transport service for added protection.
For long-distance transport, the risks associated with travel increase. Variables such as weather, road conditions, and the duration of the journey can affect the safety of your vehicle. Luxury transport services often have robust strategies and equipment to mitigate these risks, such as climate-controlled carriers and advanced securing methods.
Timeliness and Convenience
Consider how important timeliness and convenience are for your situation. Luxury transport services often offer expedited shipping options and can accommodate specific scheduling requests, making them a good choice for those who need their vehicle transported on a tight schedule. They can provide exact pickup and delivery dates that align with your requirements.
Auto transport services may operate on a more standardized schedule with less flexibility. This could mean longer wait times for vehicle pickup and delivery.
However, if your schedule is flexible and time is not a pressing issue, the savings from choosing an professional service may outweigh the convenience of expedited shipping.
When it comes to auto transport for luxury vehicles, it's crucial to choose a reputable and experienced company that specializes in handling high-end cars. However, if your budget or vehicle type doesn't require the same level of care, car shipping options are also available.
Ultimately, the decision comes down to the value and needs of your vehicle, as well as your budget. By considering these factors and doing thorough research, you can find the best auto transport option for your luxury vehicle.

Luxury vs. Reliability for City Driving: Tips and Costs for Choosing the Right Car Transport Service
The first thing you need to know is that not all auto transport companies are created equal. Some specialize in luxury vehicle transport, while others focus on more affordable options. It's important to do your research online for a safe direct car shipping reviews to find the best service for your specific needs.
Luxury Vehicle Transport
If you have a luxury vehicle, you want to ensure that it is transported with the utmost care and attention. That's where the nationwide vehicle driveaway service comes in. These companies specialize in high-end vehicles and have the necessary equipment and experience to handle them. They often offer enclosed carriers, which provide extra protection from the elements and road debris. This option may be more expensive, but it's worth the peace of mind knowing that your luxury vehicle is in good hands.
Luxury vehicle transport services often provide personalized customer service to address any concerns you might have. From the moment you inquire about their services to the final delivery of your vehicle, these companies strive to provide a seamless and stress-free experience. They understand the value of your investment and treat your vehicle with the same level of respect that you do.
Another aspect of luxury vehicle transport is the insurance coverage. These companies typically offer more comprehensive insurance policies that cover a wider range of potential damages. This means that in the unlikely event that something does happen to your vehicle during transport, you can rest assured that you will be adequately compensated.
Professional Auto Transport
On the other hand, if you have a more affordable vehicle or are on a budget, you may opt for more open-air car shipping options. These companies typically offer open carriers, which are less expensive but leave your vehicle exposed to the elements. While this may not be a concern for a standard vehicle, it may not be the best option for a luxury car.
However, the best auto transport companies have excellent safety ratings and experienced drivers, so it's important to read reviews and do your research before deciding.
Reliable auto transport options are particularly attractive for those who are moving multiple vehicles at once or for car dealerships that need to transport their inventory. Since cost-effectiveness is a priority, these companies work to optimize their shipping routes and carrier capacity, often resulting in lower prices for the customer.
It's important to note that even with many car transport services, there are still measures in place to protect your vehicle. Many of these companies offer basic insurance coverage and take precautions to secure your vehicle during transport. They may also provide tracking options so you can monitor your vehicle's journey and have peace of mind.
The Process
The process of auto transport is relatively similar for both luxury and affordable options. It starts with obtaining quotes from different companies and comparing prices and services. Once you've selected a company, they will schedule a pickup date and time that works for you. On the day of pickup, the driver will inspect your vehicle and load it onto the carrier.
The carrier will then transport your vehicle to the destination, and upon arrival, the driver will inspect it again and deliver it to you.
Luxury Vehicle Transport
One of the main differences between luxury and reliable auto transport is the level of care and attention given to your vehicle. Luxury vehicle transport companies often have more experienced and trained drivers, as well as specialized equipment for loading and unloading.
They may also offer additional services, such as white-glove delivery, where the driver will personally handle the vehicle and ensure it is delivered in pristine condition.
Luxury transport options may include features like climate-controlled transport for vehicles that require a stable temperature or are sensitive to extreme weather conditions. This is particularly important for classic cars or high-performance vehicles with delicate components. The attention to detail and customization of services can greatly differ from standard shipping options.
Another luxury transport feature is the option for single-car transport, which provides an exclusive carrier for your vehicle. This minimizes handling and potential interaction with other cars, reducing the risk of accidental damage. It's an excellent choice for rare, exotic, or particularly valuable vehicles that demand an added layer of security and privacy during transit.

Ares S1 Project
When you’re a coach builder best known for your work on luxury and high-performance cars, the next step in your evolution is only natural: Make one of your own. And that’s just what Ares Design is doing with its new supercar concept, the S1 Project.
The Italian company has just unveiled its first original vehicle, a limited-run speedster it claims will churn out more than 700 horses. And this isn’t just some theoretical mock-up. The Modena-based company, which was co-founded by former Lotus CEO Dany Bahar, has built its reputation on elegant coach work, and it shows through in the S1 Project’s curvaceous exterior. The brash vehicle features an all-new design, with a flowing shape that revolves around giant front and rear fenders. In front is a dramatic down-sloping hood that smoothly segues into a spacious cockpit that begins at the front tiers. With the driver’s cabin in a front-forward position, the car almost looks like a rocket ship on wheels.
But while the exterior may be the S1’s standout feature, the car’s technical specs are no less impressive. The S1 will be powered by a naturally aspirated V8 that can rev up to 8,800 rpm and produce a 715 horses. Mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine can rocket the car from zero to 62 mph in just 2.7 seconds. While its far from the most powerful supercar out there, the Ares model will bring plenty of grunt to the road. Other technical features include a double wishbone suspension, forged-aluminum axles and adaptive Magnetic Ride Control, all of which promise to give the S1 Project a smoother ride—not a characteristic often associated with supercars. While Ares hasn’t released pricing info for the S1 Project, you can expect it to be steep, especially since the company only intends to build 24 examples of the vehicle.

I write something! I did it! The muse didn't even suddenly abandon me partway through!
Against the Smoke of the City (I Marched)
There is a city called Gotham that doesn't exist, but by god the Daily Planet is going to find it. Or Gotham is so cursed the outside world doesn't even know it's there, but that's nothing in the face of a reporter's curiosity.
Just off I-nine in New Jersey, there is a city that doesn't exist.
Clark knows this because for weeks the Daily Planet has been researching every piece of evidence they could find to prove the city that doesn't exist, did exist.
It started with a piece on the richest companies in the world where the numbers just wouldn't add up. It was Marlene Samson's first big piece, and she was crying when she came to Dean Jones, the Daily Planet's best eye for tax returns and accounting, certain she had to have done something wrong. The rest of the Planet assumed that would be the end of it, extending Marlene their sympathies for running into so many problems on her first big job, but certain it would be solved soon with Dean looking at it.
It was not.
Three weeks later, Dean came in with raccoon eyes, greasy hair, and a four foot pile of files that he had to make Clark help him carry.
Apparently, Marlene didn't do anything wrong, it was just that there was a whole multi-billion dollar company somewhere on the East Coast that existed in government tax data, agreements with other companies, and nowhere else.
It should be noted that even as a company that regularly reported on alien invasions, Superman's love life, and Lex Luthor's newest schemes, this was not the conspiracy the Daily Planet expected to find on an average day.
The crown jewel of Dean's coffee-fueled hallucinogenic research binge was a series of photos of an unfamiliar logo for one Wayne Industries on a variety of products from luxury cars, to prosthetic limbs, to the coffee maker in the office, often covered by a sticker from whatever company didn't want to admit they were reselling the products of a nonexistent corporation. Under each logo was a minuscule maker's mark that said, "Made in New Jersey."
This was about when the whole thing stopped being a personal project and became a company-wide mystery that the Daily Planet was determined to solve.
Diane and Thea were the next to come up with something. They were the history buffs of the group, the ones who wrote about the historical value of such-and-such building or how this event a century ago affected the city today. Real interesting stuff, if a little niche for some of their readers.
"The New Jersey Mystery" it was called.
It was a whole thing for anyone interested in the historical urban development of the New England area. Clark didn't claim to understand it, but Diane said that a large number of historians, amateur and professional, believed that there was something off about the socio-economic development of New Jersey, particularly in the lack of big cities. According to the historical and modern shipping routes, there should have been a harbor city as big as Metropolis in the area, but there just… wasn't. It was, frankly, baffling and mildly concerning to most historians, according to Thea.
It wasn't hard to guess that a missing city and a missing company were more likely than not connected.
Catt Grant was the next to dig something up, finding an old piece from the gossip section about some kind of scandal, written by one Vicki Vale. Dale, the IT guy, managed to find some emails from her time in Metropolis that identified the mystery city as sitting on the Mullica River, next to the Great Bay. Mrs. Vale complained extensively about the swamp land around the city, apparently caused by a dam being built where it shouldn't some fifty years ago, now spread to the entire area. The waters were known to be toxic enough to kill a swimmer, but not dangerous enough for the municipal government to do something.
That was just the beginning of it. Jack found police reports about a mafioso that was to be sent back to New Jersey to be tried with the rest of his group. Stella traced charity funds back to a foundation in the city. Sawyer and Thea managed to make a model of the supposed dam, putting an exact location to the place.
So.
Just off I-nine in New Jersey, there is a city that doesn't exist. They don't know its name, size, or population, just that money comes flowing out, legally and illegally, but people stay in.
And it is Clark and Lois's responsibility to prove that it does exist, and, hopefully, to figure out why it's on no map, spoken by no human tongue, and invisible to satellites and Superman's gaze.
+++
They take a bus first. They'd both prefer to drive themselves, but James Pierceson managed to get an interview that suggested that only people who'd been before could find the city they were looking for. A train was out too, as even if the conductor was a native of the place, it still only had a small chance of passing through the city. That was all James had gotten out of his interview, though. Nothing about the city itself, the company that drew Daily Planet's eyes, nothing. Just how to get in, and a warning to make sure they could still get out afterward.
The bus is their only real option. It's a creaky old thing, grimy in all the wrong ways, but it had the only driver they found that knew where they were going.
Clark stares out the window as they ride, eyes on the road so he knows how to come back if he needs to. He watches as the woods slowly change into swamp land, filled with strange, nasty , brackish water that smells too much like corpses for comfort.
Lois is beside him, typing on her laptop, putting together everything they've found so far, ready for whatever they find in the city. She looks up when she feels him tense against her shoulder, just in time to see the sign as the bus passes.
Turn Back All, nailed to a half-dead tree, rusted red and falling apart.
"Just a little joke folks, the locals aren't fond of tourists so they like to scare 'em off if they can. Just means we're getting close."
The rest of the bus is seemingly mollified by the bus driver's words, chattering about the fun local custom, but Clark's eyes are on the next sign, peeking out of the foliage on the other side of the bus.
Beware.
The bus goes silent.
Danger.
Leave This Place.
Warning: Death.
They just keep showing up, one after the other even as the sky gets darker with clouds and the rot in the air gets thicker. Some are clearly set up by the city, with neat lines and bright colors. Some are probably made by the citizens, big pieces of wood or metal covered in messy paint. A few are just paint on the trees, dripping like blood.
Go Away.
This Place is Not Safe.
Get Out.
"They might as well have said 'Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here,'" Lois mutters.
Clark snorts, but his eyes stay up. The bus is turning a corner, and a city is finally visible through the thick foliage.
It was tall, is Clark's first thought. There aren't any suburbs of short little houses for the bourgeoisie, no industrial outskirts, just crumbling brutalist architecture and gothic decor right from the entrance.
He can finally hear the city too. He doesn't know why he couldn't before, how it hid from Kryptonian ears, but it echoes in his ears now, gunshots and sirens and screams and whispers. He can't hear anything else on top of the noise, like the rest of the world no longer exists even to Superman's ears. He would have been afraid if his mind had room for it.
The bus is being swallowed, Clark was suddenly sure. The signs were the teeth of the great and terrible city he sees before him and soon they would pass through the maw and enter the place of no return. Soon they would be in the throat and it would convulse and throw them downward and then the city would digest them alive. Whatever was left would not be the same as what entered.
The bus stops at a rickety station just inside the city. The bus driver turns to them as the doors open and his smile is friendly but his eyes are distant and tired.
"Welcome to Gotham," he said. "The most cursed city in America."
"Good luck."

Choosing the Right Car Shipping Company: A Comprehensive Guide
Shipping a car, whether across a city, country, or continent, can feel like a daunting task. It’s more than just a transaction; it’s entrusting your valuable vehicle to someone else. With countless car shipping companies vying for your attention, making the right choice requires careful consideration. Here's everything you need to know to pick the right car shipping company and ensure a smooth experience.
Why Use a Car Shipping Company?
Relocating, selling a vehicle, or sending a car to a loved one in another region can all be reasons to seek out a car shipping service. Driving long distances can be time-consuming, exhausting, and, in some cases, risky. Professional car shipping companies provide a hassle-free solution, saving you time and wear and tear on your car. They also offer specialized services such as enclosed transport for luxury or classic cars and international shipping for global relocations.
What to Look for in a Car Shipping Company
Reputation and Reviews Start by researching the company’s reputation. Look for customer reviews on trusted platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau. Positive feedback, clear communication, and a track record of timely deliveries are indicators of a reliable company.
Experience in the Industry The best car shipping companies have years of experience handling a variety of vehicles. Experienced companies are better equipped to deal with unexpected challenges, whether it’s navigating customs regulations for international shipping or securing oversized vehicles.
Licensing and Insurance Verify that the company is licensed and bonded. In the U.S., for example, car shipping companies should be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Insurance is equally important. Ensure your vehicle is covered for damages during transit and understand the company’s liability limits.
Transparent Pricing Request a detailed quote that includes all fees. While affordability is key, be wary of companies offering prices significantly lower than the industry average. Low prices may indicate hidden costs or subpar service.
Transport Options Car shipping isn’t one-size-fits-all. A good company offers flexible options, such as:
Open Transport: An economical choice where vehicles are transported on an open trailer.
Enclosed Transport: Offers extra protection from weather and road debris, ideal for high-value vehicles.
Door-to-Door Service: Convenient pick-up and delivery at specified locations.
Terminal-to-Terminal: A cost-effective alternative where cars are dropped off and picked up at designated terminals.
Timeliness and Tracking A reliable company will provide clear delivery timelines and updates. Many modern car shipping companies offer GPS tracking, allowing you to monitor your vehicle's journey in real-time.
Steps to Ship Your Car
Research and Shortlist Begin by comparing several companies based on reviews, services, and pricing. Contact them to clarify any doubts.
Get a Quote Share details about your car, destination, and preferred transport type to receive an accurate estimate.
Prepare Your Vehicle Clean your car thoroughly and document any existing scratches or dents with photos. Remove personal belongings to avoid extra weight and potential issues.
Inspect and Sign On the day of pick-up, inspect the car with the carrier and complete a condition report. Retain a copy for your records.
Receive and Review Upon delivery, carefully inspect your vehicle to ensure it arrives in the same condition as when shipped. Report any damages immediately.
Benefits of Choosing a Trusted Car Shipping Company
Peace of Mind: Knowing your car is in experienced hands reduces stress.
Time Savings: Professionals handle the logistics, freeing you to focus on other priorities.
Cost-Effectiveness: Avoid costs associated with road trips, including fuel, lodging, and potential vehicle repairs.
Conclusion
Selecting the right car shipping company ensures your vehicle reaches its destination safely, on time, and without unnecessary hassle. Do your research, ask the right questions, and prioritize reliability over rock-bottom prices. A reputable company will make your car shipping experience smooth and worry-free.
When it comes to moving your prized possession, trust the experts. Choose a car shipping company that values your vehicle as much as you do.

Best Car Shipping Deals in South Carolina: What You Need to Know
Tumblr media
When it comes to shipping your car across the state or the country, finding the best car shipping services in South Carolina can make all the difference in your experience. Whether you’re relocating, purchasing a car from a distant seller, or sending a vehicle to a loved one, choosing the right car shipping service can help you save time, money, and stress. In this article, we’ll explore the different types of car shipping services available in South Carolina and offer tips on how to secure the best deals for your needs.
Types of Car Shipping Services Available in South Carolina
Before diving into how to find the best deals, it’s important to understand the various car shipping options available to you in South Carolina. Different shipping methods cater to different needs, so knowing the pros and cons of each can help you make a more informed decision.
Open-Air Shipping: Open-air shipping is the most common and affordable option for car transportation. In this method, your vehicle is loaded onto an open trailer and transported to its destination. While this method is cost-effective, it does expose your vehicle to the elements, such as rain, dirt, and road debris. If you're looking for the cheapest option and your car isn't highly sensitive to the weather, open-air shipping might be your best bet.
Enclosed Shipping: Enclosed car shipping is a more premium service that protects your vehicle from weather and road conditions. In this method, your car is transported in a fully enclosed trailer, providing a higher level of security and protection. This option is ideal for luxury, antique, or exotic vehicles that require extra care. While it comes at a higher price point, many people opt for enclosed shipping when they want to ensure the safety of their car during transit.
Door-to-Door Shipping: With door-to-door shipping, the car shipping company picks up your vehicle from your home or specified location and delivers it directly to your destination. This service is extremely convenient, saving you time and effort in getting your vehicle to and from the shipping terminal. However, keep in mind that it might be slightly more expensive than terminal-to-terminal shipping, where you have to drop off and pick up your car at designated locations.
Terminal-to-Terminal Shipping: Terminal-to-terminal shipping requires you to drop off your car at a specific terminal and pick it up from another terminal at the destination. This is a more affordable option for car shipping, but it may not be as convenient as door-to-door service. If you don’t mind traveling to a terminal, terminal-to-terminal shipping can offer significant savings.
How to Find the Best Car Shipping Deals in South Carolina
Now that you have a better understanding of the different types of car shipping services, let’s dive into how you can find the best deals for your car shipping needs.
Get Multiple Quotes: One of the best ways to ensure you're getting the best deal is to request quotes from several car shipping companies. Prices can vary significantly depending on the company, the service type, and the distance traveled. By getting multiple quotes, you can compare prices and find the option that fits your budget. Keep in mind that while you want a good deal, the lowest price doesn’t always equate to the best service.
Consider Timing: Timing plays a key role in car shipping costs. If you can be flexible with your shipping dates, you might be able to secure a better rate. Most companies offer lower prices during off-peak seasons (like fall or winter) when fewer people are shipping cars. If you need to ship your car during peak seasons (such as summer), expect to pay a bit more. Booking your shipment in advance can also help secure a lower price, as last-minute shipping often comes with higher rates.
Look for Discounts and Promotions: Many car shipping companies offer discounts or promotions throughout the year. Whether it’s a seasonal promotion or a first-time customer discount, it’s worth looking into potential savings. Be sure to ask about any available discounts when you reach out to a car shipping company for a quote.
Read Customer Reviews: When choosing a car shipping company, it’s essential to consider customer feedback. Reading reviews on trusted platforms such as Google or the Better Business Bureau (BBB) can give you insight into the quality of service provided by each company. Look for companies with a reputation for reliability, transparency, and good customer service. A reputable company will go the extra mile to ensure your car is delivered safely and on time.
Understand the Payment Structure: Make sure you understand how payment works before booking a service. Some car shipping companies require a deposit upfront, while others may only ask for payment upon delivery. It’s essential to read the terms and conditions carefully to avoid any surprises. Additionally, ask about any hidden fees (e.g., extra charges for certain delivery locations, fuel surcharges, or insurance fees) that might not be included in the initial quote.
Factors That Affect Car Shipping Prices
Several factors influence the cost of car shipping in South Carolina. While prices can vary depending on the company, here are a few elements that typically affect the price:
Distance: Longer distances usually result in higher shipping costs, as the company will need to cover more ground.
Vehicle Type: Larger or heavier vehicles may cost more to ship due to the increased space and weight requirements.
Shipping Method: As mentioned earlier, open-air shipping is typically cheaper than enclosed shipping.
Time of Year: Peak seasons like summer or holidays can drive up prices, while off-peak times might offer better rates.
Delivery Type: Door-to-door shipping is more expensive than terminal-to-terminal shipping, but the added convenience may be worth the extra cost.
Conclusion
Finding the best car shipping services in South Carolina requires research, planning, and a bit of flexibility. By understanding the different shipping options, getting multiple quotes, and taking advantage of discounts, you can secure a great deal on car shipping that suits your needs and budget. Whether you’re shipping a car within South Carolina or across the country, choosing a reliable and affordable car shipping service can ensure that your vehicle arrives safely and on time.

Can You Actually Save Money With All The Car Shipping Tips You Read?
When you decide to ship a car, saving money is often a top priority. There are many car shipping tips available online, but do they really help you cut costs? Understanding how much does it cost to ship a car and following practical advice can make a difference. Let's break down some key strategies and see which ones truly help you save.
Plan Ahead to Avoid Rush Fees
One of the best ways to save money is to plan your shipment early. Last-minute requests can come with additional costs. Shipping companies may charge more if you need your vehicle moved quickly. By booking your transport at least 2-3 weeks in advance, you can avoid rush fees and secure better rates.
Example: If you’re moving across the country, early planning can save you up to 20% compared to last-minute bookings.
Choose Open Transport Over Enclosed Transport
There are two main types of car shipping: open and enclosed transport. Open transport is generally cheaper. It involves transporting your vehicle on an open trailer, which can carry multiple cars. Enclosed transport protects your vehicle inside a covered trailer but costs more. Unless you own a luxury or classic car, open transport is a cost-effective option.
Tip: Open transport can be 30-40% less expensive than enclosed transport.
Be Flexible with Shipping Dates
Flexibility can save you money. Carriers offer discounts if they can fill their trucks efficiently. If you’re flexible about your pickup and delivery dates, you increase the chances of getting a lower rate.
Insight: Mid-week or off-season shipping is often cheaper. Avoid holidays and peak moving seasons like summer.
Compare Multiple Quotes
Never settle for the first quote you receive. Comparing car shipping quotes from different companies helps you find the best deal. However, be cautious about quotes that seem too low—they might indicate hidden fees or unreliable services.
Fact: A survey found that customers who compared at least three quotes saved an average of 15%.
Verify the Carrier’s Insurance
While this tip doesn’t directly reduce shipping costs, it can save you from unexpected expenses. Make sure the carrier has proper insurance to cover any damage during transport. Ask for proof of insurance and understand what’s covered.
Tip: Some carriers offer additional insurance at an extra cost, but basic coverage is usually included.
Avoid Extra Fees by Preparing Your Car Properly
Before shipping, ensure your car is ready. Remove personal items and check for any fluid leaks. Most companies have specific rules, and failing to meet them can result in extra charges.
Checklist:
Keep the fuel tank no more than 1/4 full.
Remove toll tags and antennas.
Document any pre-existing damage.
Consider Terminal-to-Terminal vs. Door-to-Door Shipping
Door-to-door shipping is convenient but can be more expensive. Terminal-to-terminal shipping means you drop off and pick up your car at designated locations. If you live near a terminal, this option can save you money.
Fact: Terminal-to-terminal shipping can cost up to 25% less than door-to-door services.
Understand Seasonal Price Changes
Car shipping rates fluctuate depending on the season. Summer and winter holidays are peak times, so prices are higher. If possible, schedule your shipment during off-peak seasons like late fall or early spring.
Example: Shipping a car in January might cost 10-15% less than in July.
Look for Discounts
Many auto transport companies offer discounts for various groups, such as:
Military personnel
Students
Seniors
Multi-car shipments
Always ask about available discounts when requesting quotes.
Avoid Brokers with Hidden Fees
Some shipping brokers add hidden fees after you’ve booked. To avoid this, read reviews and ask for a detailed breakdown of costs. Reliable companies provide transparent pricing with no surprise charges.
Tip: Check if the quote includes fuel surcharges and insurance.
Check for Cancellation and Refund Policies
Sometimes plans change, and you may need to cancel your shipment. Understanding the cancellation policy can prevent you from losing money. Some companies offer partial refunds, while others may charge a cancellation fee.
Review the Bill of Lading Carefully
The Bill of Lading is a document that outlines the terms of your shipment. Reviewing it carefully helps you avoid unexpected costs. Ensure all details, including the condition of your car and agreed price, are accurate.
Avoid Using Non-Operable Car Services if Possible
Shipping a non-operable vehicle costs more because it requires special equipment for loading and unloading. If your car can be made operable before shipping, you can save significantly.
Note: Shipping a non-running car can add 20-30% to the total cost.
Use Trusted Companies with Positive Reviews
Choosing a reputable company might seem more expensive upfront but can save you money in the long run. Reliable companies are less likely to cause delays or damage, reducing the risk of unexpected costs.
Statistic: According to industry reports, 90% of car shipping complaints involve companies with poor reviews or unclear pricing.
Understand the Distance and Route Impact
The distance your car needs to travel affects the cost. However, some routes are more affordable due to higher demand. For example, shipping between major cities is often cheaper than rural areas.
Insight: Long-distance shipments often have a lower cost per mile compared to shorter routes.
Pay Attention to Payment Methods
Some companies offer discounts for paying in cash or via certain payment methods. Always ask if there’s a preferred payment option that could save you money.
Now, Do Car Shipping Tips Really Help Save Money?
Yes, car shipping tips can genuinely help you save money if you apply them wisely. Planning ahead, choosing the right transport type, and comparing multiple quotes are proven strategies. Understanding how much does it cost to ship a car and being aware of potential hidden fees ensures you stay within budget.
By following these practical tips, you can make car shipping a more affordable and stress-free experience.

Expert Tips for Hassle-Free Car Transport Services in Lucknow
Transporting your car from one city to another can be a daunting task, especially if you're unfamiliar with the process. Whether you’re relocating, selling your vehicle, or purchasing a car from a distant location, understanding how to ship your car safely and efficiently is crucial. In Lucknow, there are several factors to consider when choosing the best car transport services to ensure a hassle-free experience. Here are some expert tips to guide you through the process:
1. Research Reputable Car Transport Companies in Lucknow
The first step towards a smooth car transport experience is choosing a reliable company. Not all car transport providers offer the same level of service, so it’s important to do thorough research.
Look for Experienced Providers: Choose companies with a track record of successful car transport services. Look for reviews and testimonials from customers who have used their services. Positive feedback about timely deliveries and safe handling of vehicles is a good indicator of reliability.
Verify Certifications: Ensure that the company is properly licensed and insured. Reputable car transporters are often registered with authorities and provide transparent insurance coverage in case of accidents or damages during transit.
Ask for Recommendations: Speak with friends, family, or colleagues who have used car transport services. Personal recommendations often lead to the best service providers.
2. Choose the Right Type of Transport for Your Car
Car transport services typically offer two main types of transport: open transport and enclosed transport. Each option has its benefits depending on the type of car and your preferences.
Open Transport: This is the most common and cost-effective method for car shipping. Your car will be loaded onto an open carrier alongside other vehicles. While this method exposes your car to the elements, it is suitable for regular vehicles that don’t require extra protection.
Enclosed Transport: If you own a luxury, vintage, or high-value vehicle, enclosed transport is a better option. This method involves shipping your car inside a closed container, offering protection from harsh weather, road debris, and other risks. It is pricier but provides peace of mind for valuable cars.
Choose the transport type based on your budget and the level of protection your car requires.
3. Prepare Your Vehicle for Shipping
Properly preparing your vehicle for transport is essential to avoid delays or complications. Follow these steps to ensure your car is ready for the journey:
Clean Your Car: Wash your vehicle before shipping so that you can easily inspect its condition and take note of any pre-existing damage. Take photos from different angles as evidence in case of future claims.
Remove Personal Items: Remove all personal belongings from the car, as most transport companies do not allow items to be shipped inside the vehicle. This is also important for safety and avoiding additional weight charges.
Check for Leaks and Mechanical Issues: Make sure there are no fluid leaks, and that the car is in good working condition. Any mechanical issues may cause problems during transport.
Disable the Alarm: Disable any car alarms to avoid unnecessary disruptions during transit.
4. Get Multiple Quotes and Compare Prices
Before settling on a car transport company, it’s a good idea to get quotes from multiple providers. Prices can vary depending on factors like distance, type of transport, and the size of your vehicle. Be sure to request a written quote that includes all potential costs, including:
Base transport fee
Insurance charges
Additional fees (such as for oversized vehicles or delivery to remote locations)
Avoid opting for the cheapest option, as the quality of service may suffer. Instead, choose a company that offers a balance of affordability and reliability.
5. Choose Between Door-to-Door and Terminal-to-Terminal Delivery
Car transport services typically offer two delivery options:
Door-to-Door Delivery: The transporter picks up and delivers your car directly to your home or desired location in Lucknow. This is the most convenient option, as it saves you the trouble of traveling to and from the transport terminal. However, it can be slightly more expensive.
Terminal-to-Terminal Delivery: With this option, you will need to drop off and pick up your car at designated transport terminals. It is generally more affordable but requires extra effort on your part.
Choose the delivery option that best suits your schedule and budget.
6. Check the Insurance Coverage
Ensure that the car transport company provides adequate insurance coverage for your vehicle during transit. Even the most reputable companies can encounter accidents or damages, so it's essential to know that you’re covered in case of any issues.
Review the Coverage: Ask for details about the type of insurance coverage the company offers. Most companies provide basic coverage, but you may want to consider upgrading to full coverage if you have a high-value car.
Understand the Claim Process: Familiarize yourself with how to file a claim if damages occur during transport. Having this knowledge upfront can help speed up the resolution process if something goes wrong.
7. Track Your Vehicle During Transit
Many car transport companies offer vehicle tracking services, allowing you to monitor your car’s progress throughout the journey. This can give you peace of mind, especially if you're shipping your vehicle over long distances.
Get Tracking Details: Ensure the company provides you with tracking information once your car is in transit. This may include a tracking number or an online portal to check the location of your vehicle in real-time.
8. Inspect the Vehicle Upon Delivery
Once your car arrives in Lucknow, it’s crucial to inspect it thoroughly before signing off on the delivery.
Inspect for Damage: Compare the car’s condition with the pre-shipping photos you took. If you notice any new damage, immediately report it to the transport company and file a claim.
Sign the Delivery Receipt: Only sign the receipt after completing a detailed inspection. If any issues arise later, having an accurate record of the vehicle's condition will be vital for resolving the claim.
9. Ask About Delivery Timeframe
Delivery times can vary depending on the distance, route, and weather conditions. Ensure that the transport company provides a clear timeframe for delivery.
Confirm Delivery Date: Establish a delivery window before committing to the service. Some companies offer guaranteed delivery, while others provide an estimated timeframe.
Conclusion
Transporting your car to or from Lucknow doesn’t have to be a stressful experience. By choosing a reputable transport company, preparing your vehicle properly, and understanding the shipping process, you can ensure that your car is shipped safely and efficiently. Whether you're shipping a car across the country or just a short distance, these expert tips will help you enjoy a hassle-free car transport experience.
